Reflection Paragraphs

The best part about my composition I would say is my clear variation of colors. Before beginning my painting I made sure to try and map out every color change to make for the best shading. Although, I wish I had more time to blend with the mixer brush more as it could use some refinement and improving.

Picking what to paint and blending probably were the hardest parts about this alignment. The easy part was mapping out the color changes with the paintbrush. With a keen eye, I, for the most part, was able to tell the differences in color.

I used about four layers from the layer tool (a base/background, the image off the internet of pikachu, one for mapping color changes, and another for the painting the image). I used the polygon laso tool to delete edges, the quick selection tool to paint specific areas, the eyedropper tool to single out individual colors, the paint brush and the mixer brush generally. I made sure to demonstrate proper usage of the new tools and settings like the paintbrush and it's specific functions like load and wet. If I were restart the project I would definitely find an image with more colors.

     I believe the strongest area of my work is the alterations of the original images I used. I tried my hardest to change the colors shapes and composition of each image. My first published copy of this project followed the rule of thirds. When I added more to it though, I kind of ruined it in that sense.

     The hardest thing to do for this composition was to find images that somehow fit and don't end up making my work look like a complete mess. It was easier to put them together. Finding images off of google that "represent" me was hard. I used layer masks and he paintbrushes to remove backgrounds and details I didn't want in my final composition, the opacity option to fade out and layer images, crop tools, filters to alter and distort images at least 75%, the 3D editing tool just for cool effects purposes, and the liquefy tool to alter images that contained words that would draw attention from the entire picture.

Clone Wars Reflection

          I think that the strongest area of my work is the blending of the shadows. It makes the picture looks a bit more realistic. My work with using the layer masks and shading the figures of the girls could have been more precise. If I had spent a bit more time on doing it, the quality could have improved. 

          The easiest part of this assignment was taking the pictures themselves. Staying still wasn't the real challenge. The real difficulty I had wasn't even layering the photos to best I could. It was using the layer mask and not accidentally painting actual black on my composition. The mediums I "wielded" to make my "masterpiece" in Photoshop were the layer masks, paintbrush, the opacity option, several pictures I took, and obviously the move tool. The layer masks and paintbrush were used to "paint" in the people from a previous layer or picture. Adjusting the opacity helped me to match up the settings in each picture.

          I think I successfully made clones in the picture without some of the figures in interrupting others. The background looks consistent through the whole picture. If I would to redo the assignment again, I would most definitely change the landscape I used as the background. I would probably take the pictures inside rather.
